The Rallye des Pionnier's adventure began several years ago. The inspiration came from this mythical race which launched the history of the rally-raid: the first Paris-Dakar.
On December 26, 1978, place du Trocadéro, 170 car and motorcycle drivers are ready to compete on 10,000 km of tracks: Algeria, Niger, Mali, Upper Volta as far as Senegal.
Remember, this innovative and unprecedented race transports us through breathtaking landscapes while mixing the spirit of challenge, of surpassing oneself….
Pascal FRANCOIS grew up through this concept imagined by the famous Thierry SABINE. So much so that he took on the challenge of restoring a vintage vehicle. Passionate about the Range Rover brand, he found the deal of the century: a Range Raymondis from the 1988 Dakar. With patience, he brought it back to life.
Always in search of adventure, the idea was to take these exceptional machines on the road. Nothing existed to enjoy their second life.
This is how the Pioneer's rally was born: the FIRST HISTORICAL RALLY RAID.
Above all a human adventure, it is open to those who wish to experience or discover what a historic rally is by going off the beaten track.
Following in the footsteps of our idols is finally possible for everyone, without having to break the bank.
The ultimate goal is to allow everyone to access the world of rally raid and to get as close as possible to the events of the time.

Our desire is to offer you an event inspired by the first Dakars: live a unique adventure combining sportsmanship, surpassing oneself without forgetting endurance but also solidarity thanks to mutual aid, sharing and conviviality.
A human adventure like in the good old days.
The Pioneers Rally is a project or rather a crazy idea that started ten years ago bringing together a group of inexperienced friends, with the idea of traveling around France with our old frames, most of which were found abandoned. Gradually, the idea gained ground, the Pioneers rally with its four editions in France allowed a large number of participants to satisfy their passion by restoring and replicating vehicles from the African Dakar era.
Our passion for rally raids took us to Africa, and we opted for Morocco. The four Moroccan editions allowed us to test with more or less success all the ingredients necessary for the success of a historic rally raid. The last edition of the Pioneers, which took place in roaming with specials ranging from 350 to 400 km and with a classification at the allotted time, allowed each competitor to find his rhythm and it was up to us to perpetuate appropriate sporting regulations.
Our new ambitious project draws its inspiration from the heritage of rally raids, in particular that of the first “Paris Alger Dakar” from the time of Sabine, where adventure served as a driving force and competition as a developer. We have the ambition to make Pioneers Dakhla Classic un annual meeting in the spirit and values of the Pioneers, with an open mind, a meeting so that everyone can escape, get out of their comfort zone, encounter difficulties, overcome them, discover the desert, even truths...
The Pioneers Dakhla Classic is a long event of more or less 3500 km of tracks with a minimum of liaisons.
